ENVISION BEND BACKGROUND

Envision Bend brings diverse stakeholders together to educate, engage and empower all members of the Bend area community to have a voice in our city’s future. As a community convener, we are committed to engaging stakeholders across the full spectrum of our community in a nonpartisan, welcoming and collaborative manner to promote a healthy and livable city for all.

Envision Bend (formerly known as Bend 2030) was founded as a 501(c)3 organization in 2007 to champion the community’s vision and ensure its implementation. For more than 15 years our organization has worked to help the community realize its long-range vision, bringing people together to address Bend’s biggest challenges and greatest opportunities. Currently Envision Bend is managing a community-wide visioning process to create a new long-range vision for the greater Bend area. This 18-month project will wrap up by mid-2023 and the Executive Director will play a major role in helping our dynamic board of directors advance the projects and initiatives contained in the new vision’s first five-year action plan.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an Executive Director to provide leadership to the working board of directors and manage and develop the nonprofit’s business, programs and external partnerships. This is an exciting role for someone with a strong passion for local community building and dynamic partnership development skills who also possesses the organizational and leadership qualities needed to run a nonprofit corporation.

This position is designed for an independent contractor requiring approximately 20-25 hours/week. The organization has an annual operating budget of $85,000-$200,000, depending on current programs and activities. Start date is negotiable.

Compensation

The Executive Director’s compensation shall be commensurate with experience within the range of $45-$55/hour depending on experience. The role requires approximately 20-25 hours of work per week. Envision Bend would like to sign a minimum two-year contract for this role.

Independent Contractor Working Conditions

Per independent contractor regulations, the Executive Director must provide their own office workspace and equipment, including access to a cell phone, printer and computer. There are no designated office hours but some regularly scheduled monthly meetings must be accommodated. This work also requires occasional evening and weekend obligations. Travel mileage is reimbursable.
